These terms govern CrawfordNotary.com and service requests made to Sergei Crawford, an individual doing business as Crawford Notary. By using the site or confirming an appointment, you agree to the terms in effect at that time.
General information only
The site explains notarial procedure. It does not provide legal, immigration, tax, financial, translation, filing, or document-preparation advice and does not create an attorney-client or advisory relationship.
A request is not a guarantee
Submitting information, receiving a quote, making a payment, or reserving a time does not guarantee that a notarial act will be completed. The final decision is made at the appointment after identity, willingness, awareness, direct communication, the document, certificate, witnesses, technology, safety, fraud-prevention, and legal requirements are considered.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for obtaining the correct document and instructions from an authorized source; confirming the required notarial act, certificate, witnesses, and acceptable format; providing accurate information; presenting acceptable identification; protecting secure links; and appearing on time with every required signer and witness.
Booking and payment
Notary Hub handles document upload, identity verification, scheduling, and payment for electronic notarization. Square handles Manhattan mobile scheduling, the service address, and the separate $50 mobile payment. After completed paper notarial acts, their statutory fees may be paid by contactless card through Square or in cash.
Electronic, traditional, mobile, waiting, parking, toll, delivery, and papering-out charges are disclosed on the Pricing page and in the applicable booking information. A changed document or appointment may affect eligibility or price. Tips are not requested or accepted.
Mobile cancellation policy
The $50 Manhattan mobile fee is paid through Square separately from statutory notarial fees. Cancel or reschedule at least three hours before the appointment for a full mobile-fee refund. After that cutoff, the fee is not refunded when the visit cannot occur because of a late cancellation, no-show, unavailable signer or witness, lack of access, or another client-side issue. No statutory notarial fee is charged for an act not performed.
If I cancel or cannot make the visit for a reason on my side, you may choose a full mobile-fee refund or a new appointment.
Electronic notarization
An online appointment takes place through Notary Hub and requires its approved technology, identity verification, and direct audio-video communication. I must be physically in New York. A signer abroad must satisfy New York’s required connection to the United States. The original result is electronic; changing the completed file may invalidate the act.
Third-party services
Notary Hub and Square are independent service providers. Their own terms, privacy notices, eligibility rules, payment procedures, and technical requirements also apply. Hosting, email, storage, communication, security, and delivery providers may also be used. Availability of an embedded or linked third-party service cannot be guaranteed.
No promise of acceptance
Notarization does not prove a document is true, lawful, enforceable, or suitable. The recipient decides whether to accept an electronic, printed, or papered-out record.
Free Community Notary
Every Crawford Notary service provided through Free Community Notary is free. Actual mailing or courier charges requested by the participant are third-party costs rather than Crawford Notary fees. Ordinary notarial requirements and these terms still apply. Large or recurring requests may be divided into reasonable appointments so the program remains available to others.
